Vintage RC Helicopters - E-Flight

E-Flight  Joe William Richardson

My E-Flight Blade 400 (2009)

Bought Feb 10 in good condition with a selection of spares and fitted with standard cyclic servos but upgraded Corona MG tail servo.  Put in a non-PCM 35 Meg receiver as I had used this type before with no problems however, first circuit away and lost control resulting in a unplanned arrival.  Luckily the ground was very soft mud and damage not too bad but will need boom, spindle shaft etc and all cyclic servo's stripped their gears.

Jun10 - Carried out repairs and replaced the cyclic servo's with metal gear corona models; tested but quite windy though good enough to get the basic set-up Ok.  Next session and in calmer conditions and quite surprising for a '400' size helicopter as it zooms around in a very smart fashion with very positive control.  Tried again in quite blustery conditions and still behaves like a larger machine so well impressed.
